Carol Kuzdenyi - pianist / piano and voice teacher / choir director
 
       Carol Kuzdenyi holds a BS in Music Education with honors from
Duquesne University, Pittsburgh PA, where she majored in piano,
and minored in voice.

        She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the
San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied piano with
Milton Salkind and Yuji Takahashi.
       
        Carol Kuzdenyi has been performing and teaching music in California for 37 years. She welcomes students of all ages and technical levels, including adult beginners and re-beginners.
 
        Carol has written several books for her beginning piano students:
 
           ~  Nil Desperandum: Piano Music for Beginning Adults
           ~  Joga-rhythms: A New Approach to Beginning Piano
           ~  Junior Joga-rhythms (for 5 to 7-year-old beginners)
 
        Carol came to Pacific Grove in 2001 to assume the Director of Music position at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, a position she held until October, 2008.
       
       Currently Carol directs The Monday-Night Choir. This choir, which began in the spring of 2009 as a Monterey Peninsula College class, but was canceled due to the college's financial straits, is continuing independently. See The Monday-Night Choir page for more information.

        Carol also accompanies Dr. Sal Ferrantelli’s MPC Day-time Choir and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
 
       During their 2008-09 season, Carol Kuzdenyi was the rehearsal and performance pianist for I Cantori di Carmel, directed by Dr. Sal Ferrantelli.
 
        Carol has accompanied many different church and school choirs in the area, as well as solo instrument recitals.
 
        On July 11, 2009 Carol collaborated in a concert with composer/bassist Rebekah Griffin Greene and composer/trombonist Terry L. Greene II. A review of the concert appeared in Peninsula Reviews.
 
        Carol was the entire "orchestra" for the 2010 nine-week summer run of "Broadway" — A Musical at the Wharf Theater in Monterey.
